The new SAR vehicle intended for regional maritime volunteering has been launched in Cesenatico. A project where safety, reliability and technology meet.

We are proud to announce the launch of a new B-Tec 60 (By BSC) dinghy in the port of Cesenatico, intended for Civil Protection volunteers engaged in rescue and surveillance activities along the Emilia-Romagna coast.

The vehicle, classified as SAR – Search and Rescue, was purchased by the Emilia Romagna Region as part of the 2025 Annual Operational Plan of the regional Civil Protection and will be placed at the Sub Zocca Rescue Centre in Cesenatico and will become part of the regional fleet, which currently has 14 inflatable boats supplied to the Provincial Coordinations of the Riviera, from Ferrara to Rimini.

The missions

The new B-TEC 60 inflatable boat (by BSC) will serve the community in multiple operational scenarios:

  • Search and rescue of people and vessels in distress
  • Transport of shipwrecked people to safe landing points
  • Transfer of medical and paramedical personnel in emergency situations
  • Coastal monitoring and coastal surveillance
  • Environmental protection: combating pollution and safeguarding maritime state-owned areas

The words of the ceremony

The launch ceremony was attended by the Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Emilia-Romagna Region with responsibility for Civil Protection, Manuela Rontini, who emphasized how this investment strengthens the operational capacity of the regional system in the maritime sector.

“We continue to invest in resources, training, and skills, strengthening collaboration with the Maritime Authority and organized volunteering. Teamwork that helps ensure greater safety for citizens and tourists and more effective protection of the coast and the marine environment.” — Manuela Rontini, Undersecretary of Civil Protection, EmiliaRomagna Region.

BSC alongside those who protect the sea

This launch marks an important moment not only for the Civil Protection of Emilia-Romagna, but also for BSC. Alessandro Colzani, designer BSC Colzani, points out:

“This dinghy represents much more than a supply for us: it confirms that BSC dinghies are chosen for missions where there is no margin for error. Robustness, maneuverability, and reliability are the qualities institutions seek when people’s lives are at stake. We are proud that a vehicle born on our construction sites watches over the safety of the Adriatic Riviera every day.”

The dinghy delivered to Cesenatico is an expression of the new line B-Tec, the BSC range dedicated specifically to professional work and rescue activities at sea.

B-Tec was born from the awareness that those who operate in work and high-risk contexts have different needs than those who sail for pleasure: reliable performance in all weather and sea conditions, advanced technical equipment, maneuverability in confined spaces and structures designed to facilitate recovery operations. Qualities that do not allow for compromise, because when you work and – even more so – when the stakes are people’s lives, the medium must live up to the mission.

“We are proud – Colzani continues – that the B-Tec line has found its first institutional use on the waters of the Adriatic Riviera, alongside those who protect it every day”.
